The original document was bulletin 88 from the Bureau of Mines, a predecessor entity of the current US Department of Energy. This is a fascinating historical document showing both the start of a new industry, natural gas processing, as well as the current understanding of equilibrium theory at that time (1915).

Within the confines of HTML, the text has been converted to an approximation of the original pages. At some points it is unclear in the original document if a typographic change was made to organize the text or to simply make text fit better on a page. As closely as possible, the organization of the material has been maintained. Very few corrections have been made to the original text, even where errors may be present. The intent has been to maintain the original document. Table 5 is one notable place with errors in the original text. Table 5 Plant 5 through Plant 11 appear to have significant errors in column placement in the original text. The Table 5 data should be viewed with great suspicion.
